A question we get asked all the time is: is it better to have my confetti loose in a basket, individually bagged, or in cones?

The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all “best” option — it really depends on your venue, your style and how you want your confetti moment to feel.

So let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each option and help you find the perfect fit for your big day.

Loose confetti

PROS

looks beautiful in a basket – perfect for photos
Less packaging – making it the most eco-friendly
Most cost effective
Great for DIY styling and displays

CONS

You’ll need something to display it in (baskets or bowls work best!)
Needs some time to fluff up after being compressed in postage
Guests may take different amounts to the volume we measure out for each guest
In outdoor weddings, be aware that strong winds may try blow the confetti from the basket or bowl
Someone will need to hand out confetti to the guests

Best for: Couples who want to be eco-friendly, flexible option and don't mind asking someone to help hand it out.

Individual bags

PROS

Can be placed on guests seats before the ceremony – no handing out needed
Our glassine bags are recyclable
Organza bags to be sent back after the big day rather than thrown away (we pay for the postage)
Pre-filled with pre-measured portion sizes – ready to be used on the big day
Both bags styles can be personalised

CONS

More packaging involved, so slightly less eco-friendly
Slightly higher cost due to extra packaging and prep
Guests may try to throw directly from the bag rather than getting it out the bag first

Best for: Couples who want a quick, fuss-free option that's ready to hand out with personalisation options.

Cones

PROS

Very decorative
Come with personalised stickers
Guests can throw directly from the cone
Pre-measured portions included
All materials are recyclable and eco-friendly

CONS

Require a little assembly before the wedding
Need a basket, tray or stand to hold them
Need someone to hand them out to guests at the end

Best for: Couples looking for a stylish, decorative display with personalisation.

There really is no right or wrong choice – whether you let loose, bag it up or go for cones, the best option is always the one that feels right for your wedding vision.
