How much confetti do I need?

This is SUCH a hard question! Give it a Google, and it will suggest a certain weight. Go to other websites of biodegradable petal confetti suppliers, and they suggest litres. We go about it a slightly different way - by the number of guests that you have!
First up, weight is incredibly misleading. Often Google gives the pre-dried weight, rather than the dried weight of the petals, which is a significantly lower number. In fact, we once had an enquiry for a kilogram of petals, which would’ve cost hundreds, if not thousands of pounds, until we realised that the internet had misled them, giving them the pre-dried weight! Furthermore, different petals have different weights. For example, an English rose weighs far less than one from South America, because of the thickness of the petals. They have the same volume, and same amazing flutter, but different weights - which is so confusing when you are measuring like that!
When it comes to litres, we also don’t like this too much as a measure! You can squish down the petals, and then it seems like you never have enough. But petals are thrown when they are all loose with plenty of air in them, which makes it far easier to hit a certain volume of petals. Again, you could carefully place some very large rose petals into a measuring jug and have a couple of litres of petals, which would give you no effect at all for your confetti throw.
That is why we have gone about it that bit differently. We measure by the person - with each guest getting a palmful of petals. This way, weight doesn’t matter, and it also ensures that the palmful is actually full, too. One rose petal isn’t enough - it needs to be full!
Measuring by the person also means that you don’t need to overbuy (and either have some left over or spend more money than you actually want to on your confetti), and it also means that you don’t have to underbuy and try and make your petal confetti stretch that bit further. It also removes the confusion of weights and litres, and stops you having to try to convert such measures (for example, is one litre of petals enough for 10 guests? What about 14 guests?). Per guest makes it far easier!
That’s also how we do our individual confetti bags, as well as our personalised cones. There’s no point having any left over, so again, we can make as few, or as many of these as you need. 21? Sorted! 67? Fantastic! No number is too awkward. And of course, if you still want to round up, just in case, then that is fine too!
On our order page, we ask you how many guests you are having. This then automatically works out how much confetti you need, removing all of the stress. All you need to do is to choose the colours of the natural petals you want, work your way through the additional add-ins, in case you want anything extra, and then let the calculator do its work! This way, you can also see how much you are spending per guest, which helps you to budget that bit better!
