Hi everyone! We’re super excited to be starting a blog! We hope to fill this with lots of useful wedding tips, biodegradable confetti inspo, colour ideas, behind the scenes stories, eco-friendly insights and lots more helpful information to make planning your special day that little bit easier.
This first post will be a bit more on us, what surprised us most when starting Ezra’s Confetti and what we’ve learnt over the last (nearly!) two years.
Some of the most surprising things we learnt were the prices of dried petal confetti, the demand from venues for biodegradable and dried petal confetti, and the lack of anyone offering the ability to personalise petal mixes.
Until we had our own wedding and started making confetti, we had no idea how much people could charge for quality dried petals in preset mixes. Seeing that, we decided one of our goals: always keep confetti as affordable as possible, while maintaining high quality.
Our other goal is to give couples their dream mixes! No more “I guess that’s close enough” instead, if you want large petals, we use large petals. If you want pink and green with gold glitter and we will make your dream mix!
With venues requiring biodegradable confetti, and often specifying dried petal confetti, we want to make sure all our products are complete biodegradable and wildlife safe too! That is why we no longer use lilies, due to their toxicity to animals. We also avoid all dyes, stains and paints. Not only are these bad for the environment, they’re also high risk with white dresses, suits and venues grounds!
Another aspect that we didn’t fully appreciate until we got our own wedding photos back, is how important and amazing those confetti action shots can be! It’s such a fun, natural moment that you get to share with all your family and friends on the day. There are not many opportunities for those moments on the big day, so it’s important to really make the most of it! Looking back, these are some of our favourite photos.
We’ve learnt so much in our adventure bringing Ezra’s Confetti to life, and I’m sure there is still plenty more for us to learn!
This blog will be a great place to share all our lessons learned with you all. Whether it’s how much confetti to order, which colours to chose or curiosity about what goes on behind the scenes, we would love to tell you!
Thank you for reading, and we look forward to sharing more soon!
